A mediator does not return of their own accord. They come back only when invited, and only when the family accepts that every other path has failed. In that moment, mediation is no longer a step in the process but the final recourse. Success becomes possible when the underlying truth is named and acknowledged, for once it is spoken it no longer weighs in silence but becomes a shared point of departure. The art lies in bringing this truth to light with simplicity and clarity, while inviting sincerity of intent, the patience to listen as one hopes to be heard, the courage to concede where agreement requires it, and respect even in the midst of division.
